11/03/23 | By April 2023, CMIs have been launched by 7 local authorities – Camden, Cotswold, Islington, Telford & Wrekin, Warrington, West Berkshire, and Westminster – raising £6 million for local net zero projects in these communities. There is a pipeline of at least 5 more councils who have pledged publicly to offer their residents the chance to invest in a CMI, one of which being Leeds City Council. With interest too from Greater Manchester, North of Tyne, and West Yorkshire Combined Authorities, the CMI model continues to provide an opportunity for local people to engage with and participate in the delivery of projects aligned to national and global climate targets. | Contact details and research profile of Mark Davis, inventor of CMIs, University of Leeds |
