Tracking developments from the Alternative Manifesto Process
Jump to list of tracking pages
We are tracking developments from the year-long alternative manifesto process (AMPlify West Yorkshire) that we hosted in 2020-21.
The process involved 350 people, well over 700 hours of time, and 50 co-authors wrote up the 18 new and existing good ideas for the future of West Yorkshire that emerged from the discussions. You can find out more about that process and the book on this page.
We are recording what happens in West Yorkshire relevant to each idea, and to the same ideas in other places, in order to compare and contrast with our region.
We aren't claiming that everything, or anything, that happens is because of AMPlify, but the alternative manifesto process highlighted 18 good ideas, and we want to celebrate when they are put into practice, and understand why if not.
West Yorkshire is full of people and organisations doing great things, and the 18 AMPlify ideas are only a snapshot of that.
But the ideas in the book make some benchmarks, held by people outside of civic institutions and political parties, for what could change in West Yorkshire.
Having these benchmarks is a way to measure what our elected representatives and the employees of our institutions do on behalf of everyone who lives and works in West Yorkshire.
